BUCS Wednesday Report – 13.10.21

Yesterday saw the return of a full BUCS Wednesday, campus was full of eager students proud to once again represent NTU on the BUCS stage.  

Despite some last minute changes, over 60 fixtures took place over the course of the day, featuring our talented student athletes.   

The teams in Pink recorded over 30 wins, starting the season strongly. There was late drama on the Clifton 3G pitch, with men’s Lacrosse 1st narrowly holding on to a 5-4 lead, despite some late pressure from Manchester Met.  

The Men’s and Womens Basketball 1st teams started their campaigns with 2 away wins against Loughborough University 2nds. NTU Netball 1st also celebrated success against Loughborough, taken the win in their match against Loughborough 2nds.   

Men’s Rugby continued their strong start to the season with a resounding away win against Leeds Beckett. There were two other fantastic away wins for Men’s Hockey 1st against Oxford Brookes, and Men’s Football 1st against Newcastle. 

Another notable fixture, saw our Womens Football 1st team taking the win, beating local rivals the University of Nottingham 1st team 1-0 in a tightly contested fixture at the Clifton Campus. 

Once again a fantastic day celebrating sport back on campus.
