Two matches of note in the cup were NTU Women’s football 3rd team playing University of East Anglia 2nds, who made it to the next round of the Conference cup with a pulsating 7-6 victory. Not to be outdone, our Women’s basketball 2nd team, overcame University of Leicester 1st team, 49-23 in their conference cup fixture, making it through to the next round.
On our Clifton Campus, a hotly anticipated return match for our Men’s Lacrosse 1st team against local rivals University of Nottingham 1st lived up to its billing. A hard-fought match played out in the growing darkness of Clifton 3G, where NTU managed to take the win with a final score of 9-8.
Our Women’s hockey 1st team travelled to Oxford for their national league fixture, in what was a pivotal match for their season. The girls won 1-0, a fantastic result for the team. This is their 1st season in the national league and testament to the amazing progress made by the program. Well done to all involved.
Back to Clifton and the Women’s Squash team recorded a maiden victory of the season, beating Loughborough University 2nd team 4-0, raising hopes of a chance to survive in their league.
