We are proud to have 11 past, present and future students representing NTU this August in Limerick, Ireland, where they will be competing at the World Lacrosse U21s Men’s World Championships 2022. This is a huge achievement for NTU Lacrosse who have developed over the past 2 years whilst working alongside NTU Sport. The tournament between 23 nations will be held from August 10th – August 21st.

The Under 19 World championship commenced in 1988 and since has run every 4 years, so far with USA coming home with the trophy for all 7 championships with England making the semi finals in all 7. The tournament age was temporarily raised to U21s this year due to covid and it will be the biggest tournament yet.

We heard from Head of Lacrosse, Sam Patterson, about his feelings on the students being selected to play on this level. ‘It is a fantastic achievement for the university to have so many students representing their respective nations on world stage at the U21 World Championships. NTU are committed to the development of young international players and to have this reflected in the number of players represented in Limerick is highly rewarding. We know how hard they have all worked to get to this tournament, and we wish all eleven students the very best of luck and we will be supporting them all the way.’
A huge congratulations to the NTU alumni and students who will be playing over the coming weeks, we wish you and your teams the best of luck.
