This Girl Can Week is back, and we can’t wait for you to see what we have in store. During This Girl Can week we will be celebrating our female students, recognising achievements and encouraging women to get active and try new sports and activities.

There are plenty of ways to get involved!

Girls Night In

Tuesday 15 November

City Students’ Union, 7 pm – 9 pm,

We’re kicking off This Girl Can week with a Girls Night In. We want to celebrate our female students, so grab all your friends and get involved, we’ve got lots in store for you! How to book: more information can be found here

UV Classes – Free Ultraviolet edition!

21 November – 27 November

In the name of This Girl Can we’re encouraging female students to throw on some comfy whites and work up a sweat in our This Girl Can UV Spin classes.

Play for Fun

21 November – 27 November

This Girl Can Week is all about encouraging female students to try new activities in a friendly and super fun environment. From 21 November – 27 November all Play for Fun sessions will be free. Female-only Play for Fun classes include: Women’s Basketball and Netball. See full timetable here

Fitness Classes

Whatever your motivation and no matter how busy your schedule is, you’ll find a fitness class that suits you. For This Girl Can Week, all of our Fitness and Blast classes are FREE, so come along and try something new. View our timetable here

Female-only Self Defence

Wednesday 23 November, 8 pm – 9 pm, City Sports Centre

Experience our female-only self-defence class at the city campus. This session will cover the basics of self-defence, as you learn some top tips to look after yourself in potentially vulnerable situations, this class is free.

– Jiu Jitsu – Friday 25th November 5pm – 8pm City Sports hall

– Cheerleading – Friday 25th November 6 – 8 pm, City Sports Hall

– Women’s Cricket – Friday 25th November 5pm – 6pm Lee Westwood sports Centre Clifton campus

Fixture of the Week

In honour of This Girl Can week the NTU Sport Instagram page will be covering women’s Hockey as its featured game of the week! On Wednesday the 23rd November make sure to keep an eye on their Instagram stories for video updates, a behind the scenes look at a female focused BUCS Wednesday game night, as well as a list of all the women’s home games for that day.

NTU Moves Challenge

Take part in our special Moves challenge, for your chance to win a £20 Amazon voucher!

To celebrate This Girl Can, take part in our walking challenge and walk 50,000 steps from 21 November – 27 November to be entered into our free prize draw.
